Pathophysiology of Renal Failure
Step 1: The kidneys get damaged due to conditions like diabetes, hypertension, infections, kidney stones, or other kidney diseases.
↓
Step 2: The damaged kidneys cannot filter blood properly.
↓
Step 3: Waste products such as urea and creatinine start accumulating in the blood.
↓
Step 4: The kidneys are unable to remove excess water and electrolytes effectively.
↓
Step 5: Fluid and electrolyte imbalance develops in the body.
↓
Step 6: Sodium and water retention increases fluid volume in the body.
↓
Step 7: Swelling (edema), high blood pressure, and fluid overload occur.
↓
Step 8: Toxins continue to build up in the bloodstream, affecting various organs.
↓
Step 9: Symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath, and decreased urine output develop.
↓
Step 10: This results in Renal Failure (Kidney Failure). 🩺🫘
